Artists' Cooperative Theater presents an original  one-"jolly"-man musical, "The Truth About Santa Claus." In this presentation, Santa himself comes to the stage to tell the true story of his life: his early years in Patara, his role as Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, and his transformation into the beloved figure of  Santa Claus.  He will tell of the traditions of Christmas and their origins, as well as answering some of the puzzling mysteries of his existence . By the end, YOU WILL BELIEVE!

The play was inspired by The Autobiography of Santa Claus (It's Better to Give), by Jeff Guinn, associate book editor for The Fort Worth Star-Telegram and journalism professor at Texas Christian University, published by The Summit Group. Music, lyrics, and book are by Roland "Butch" Caire, Jr.  Dr. Caire is the co-writer of two other Christmas plays for children, "No Ordinary Night" and "The Best Place To Celebrate Christmas," both published by Contemporary Drama Service of Colorado.

Unlike department store Santas, this "jolly old elf" is the real deal...he's the grandfatherly, traditional Old World Santa who invites you into his home to tell his personal story. The result is an enchanting tale of a real life turned to legend that will charm children of all ages, while reinforcing the birth of Jesus as the focus of Christmas.
